Growth 2025

So this year is all about finally shedding your skin and letting go of the last parts of your life – mind, body and spirit that no longer serve you! Growing can be uncomfortable and create uncertainty and fear in many of us. We all like comfort and the safety of knowing that everything will be just as we like it, however in the long term we can become stagnant, rigid and life eventually becomes mundane. This year brings the energy of finally tying up all the loose ends, saying yes to you and ripping off that Band-Aid for the things in your life that you have been avoiding …..for so long!

Growth is change, change is growth

Growth is very important and change is something that is definitely a constant in our lives. Moving with the times, ride the wave or go with the flow are all sayings that tell us its ok to change and grow. I like to think about the metaphor: a tree does not grow overnight, a tree takes time to spread its roots and grow its branches, take up the water it needs and the nutrients in order to facilitate its growth. Forcing change and growth can create overwhelm and put us into fear. Sometimes our mind will take us from step 1 to step 100 and can move us into shock and put the brakes on completely.

How to grow without the overwhelm

So, how do we create growth and support change in our lives when its scary? Think about something that you would like to achieve, maybe its a trip overseas or saving for a house or even a new career change. Once you can see yourself here and it feels good and you feel solid in what you want sit with it for a while. The next step is to create a check list of small bite size jobs or things to do that get you to your end goal. Be realistic with your ability to chomp into one thing at a time, maybe your time can only allow for one step off your list every week or month or maybe your time is free and you can chip away at your list each day. One small change every day or one item at a time can keep us on the path to growth and change. Before you know it just like the tree metaphor your roots are firm and your branches have stretched into all different areas in your life where fresh potential and opportunities lay and you have grown!.
